What would a planet made out of only sound look like?
Nina Sticher and I explored analogue and digital tools to visualise what this planet might look like and created a 'scientific' book about this imaginary planet.
Since a planet made of sound cannot be seen with the human eye, we created a story about scientists who try to explore this planet with special techniques.
The texts were written together with Chat GPT. We also screen printed posters usign the images we had taken earlier in the process. (2023)
PROCESS
The vibration of the sound in the speaker causes the salt on the plate to form patterns according to the frequency of the sound.
We repeated the experiment using water instead of salt.

At the same time, we experimented with p5.js, linking our code to the computer's microphone
to get audio-reactive images.

We edited the pictures we had previously taken and integrated them into our story. The Chladni pictures were transformed into sound patterns
of creatures living on this planet, while the water pictures became weather/frequency storms that were visible on the planet.
